Welcome to our regular roundup of events and activities in and around AMTSO.
Meetings and Events
Our reception event in San Francisco on April 29th Is only a few weeks away, and plans are being finalized and the guest list settled – there are still a few places left for members and their guests, so if anyone plans to attend but hasn’t yet signed up, please do so as soon as possible.
Last week AMTSO was represented at the annual AV-Test Security Summit and awards ceremony, catching up with many of our members and congratulating several of them on their awards earned for outstanding performance in tests. Future events include our online member meeting in mid-May and the next Testing Town Hall call scheduled for July 2nd, which we expect will include an update on Android security from Google.
Board Elections
The deadline for candidate nominations for our upcoming Board elections is also approaching fast, with the final cutoff at 12 noon Pacific time on April 21st. Any member representatives interested in running for a place on our Board should submit their details ahead of the cutoff; please contact AMTSO for any further information on the role of director within our organization.
The next meeting of the Board will be on April 22nd, with final approval of the slate of candidates among the items to review and discuss. Voting in the elections is open to all entity-level members and will run from May 8th to June 2nd.

Working Groups

This week we had meetings for the VPN group, whose work on phishing and scam protections within VPN packages continues to expand to cover a wider range of products providing defense against web-based dangers, and our XDR team, reviewing the recently-published set of XDR product data and working on the next steps of providing detail on what’s being tested and guidance for testers on how to address and evaluate this broad and complex market space.
