AMTSO News 2024-07-19

Welcome to our regular roundup of events and activities in and around AMTSO.

Meetings and Events

Preparations are moving ahead for our member meeting in Dublin in September/October. Registration has opened for members and an initial agenda is being put together, we will have several presentation slots available on the second day for talks from both members and guests and will also be discussing some of our industry-wide projects with invited subject matter experts, any non-members interested in joining the meeting or sharing a presentation with our attendees should contact [email protected] for more information. A venue has been arranged for our traditional member dinner and we hope to have space for partners and guests.

We also have another public Testing Town Hall event scheduled for early November, and are now open for talk submissions from members and others interested in sharing testing-related topics with the AMTSO community.

XDR Working Group

Our XDR project team held a call this week, reviewing responses to our vendor component survey and planning next steps. With data from many providers yet to come in, we have now commenced manual gathering of information on what each solution/platform can provide from publicly-available data, while continuing to reach out to providers for more complete and accurate internal data. The form to submit product information is still open here: https://members.amtso.org/amtso-xdr-component-tracking/

Sandbox Evaluation Working Group

Our sandbox paper is still open for member feedback, and we will shortly begin soliciting input from non-member experts in the area. Once all comments have been gathered and addressed we expect to present a final version of the paper at our Dublin meetings, and to vote on adoption as an official AMTSO paper shortly afterwards.

VPN Working Group

Our new VPN group has been set up with an initial set of participants, including test lab representatives, and we will hold an initial launch call next week to define the project’s goals and schedule regular meetings. We hope to have some initial outcomes ready to present at our Dublin meeting in a few months. The group is still open to new participants, members can find details on the member site or contact [email protected] to sign up.

RTTL Working Group

The RTTL held a call last week to review the status of the system and track the flow of samples and metadata, with several new feeds expected to come online in the next few weeks.

Board and Management

We held our first meeting of the new Board this week, covering a wide range of topics including plans for new projects and preparations for our upcoming meetings. The next Board call will be in early September.
