Q: Will AMTSO encourage and facilitate the sharing of samples and information between vendors?


A: There are already several formal and informal mechanisms and forums for sample and information exchange between researchers. Reputable companies like those represented in AMTSO do not, despite the common misconception, keep samples to themselves to maintain competitive advantage: if they did, it would be to the disadvantage of the wider community. In fact, the industry has a long and honorable tradition of sharing information and resources between trusted researchers. (By trusted researchers, we mean trustworthy, ethical individuals, irrespective of who they work for.)
